Rooms

Exquisite suites

A sum of sensibilities: elegance, functionality, some Nordic touches and noble materials, combined with subtle elements of the old house to achieve an urban and cosmopolitan design, which immerses the visitor in the very essence of the city where it is located. A friendly and welcoming space to feel at home.

The numbering of our rooms consists of four figures: four different important dates, one for each room. These are years related to the history of the house.

Origins

Suite 1765

30 m2 / 1st floor/ with a balcony overlooking the square

Looking at the history of our house, we could trace its origins to the middle of the 18th century, given that the first book in the city’s cadastre archives, Libro del Nuevo Apeo de Igualada 1765, marks the payment of a tax of a house in this spot; one side with the street l’Argent and the other with the main square of Igualada, present place of the Town Hall.

Textile trade

Suite 1802

24 m/ 1st floor / wheelchair accessible

On the ground floor, now a restaurant, you can still see some original decorative and structural elements: the supporting beams, the dry stone walls, the counter of the clothing store and the wooden doors. On the outside, the beam that supports the shop door on Carrer de l’Argent (with a three-pointed arch, made of chopped stone) indicates the date 1802.

Ennoblement

Suite 1908

30 m2 / 2nd floor / with a balcony overlooking the square

A residence of members of the artisan class, as is the case of Cal Roure, begun a process of ennoblement and redecoration in the late nineteenth – early twentieth century. Between 1908-1910 a neo-Gothic sgraffito with geometric and floral typology was made on the main façade.

New resurrect

Suite 1970

27 m2  / 2nd floor

The most important reform was carried out at the end of the 1960s by the local decorator Josep Vilanova, taking as a reference a noble farmhouse from the 18th century. Some of the actions taken in this reform are the replacement of the neo-Gothic sgraffito by the current sgraffito and the construction of the covered terrace on the upper floor.
